Hi Wendy , I’m Ben Tomlin’s father, Henry jr was married to Rosa Julie Stocker daughter of Julia Stocker. The Honourable Rolls use to lodge with great granny Julie when working with the Short brothers on their aeroplanes.

My old document from 1745 - 1792 does not list Glebe Cottage....so either it was built at a later date or maybe it had a different name? But I don't think there is any mention of the surname Tomlins either so I suppose the house and maybe Ben's great great great grandfather must have come to Eastchurch after these dates. Even so I would like to know if he has any other information about this cottage and his family...when they were there, as I am planning some research on this.

My great great great grandfather lived here, Henry tomlin jr, my dad was born just down from here at the nest, the 'secret garden' next to the village hall is still owed by us. Still have a lot of family on the island.
