Here is CO16 (JKM 416) after its retirement from M&D service, on the Isle of Sheppey sometime around 1960, apparently in use to carry construction workers for McAlpine, and presumably on hire from Contract Bus Services.
Lovely busses. If this was an M&D coach on the island, my dad would have driven it from time to time. I always liked riding in these coaches.

JKM 416 is an "H" (Heavy Motor Car), an AEC first registered 30/9/47 to M&D. It's one of a fleet of 61 AEC's (JKM 401-461 consecutive numbers) supplied to M&D at the same time. The date in the last column (Agent and Remarks) gives the date for all 61 of these as 21 March 1947, although they all have different dates of first registration. \If it was used byMcAlpine as acrew carrier it would presumably have been reregistered wherever their head office was
