I used to walk past these every day from Coronation Rd to the National School then Delamark Rd Boy's School. In summer, the gardens were a riot of colour and the air heavy with the peppery scent of the lupins and tulips that filled them. The gardeners did a marvellous job keeping the gardens in bloom with different plants to suit the time of year. The spring bulbs were almost as magnificent as the full summer display.
