Where did the Councils go wrong, not just down to Jetaway Holidays but neglect.they would be packed these days if this stuff were still there. People have more and more returned to Holidays at home,

I spent many a sunny day on the Silver Star, my friends dad (Ken Williams) used to drive her. We would start in the morning with a rowing boat going to get her (she was moored off of K's Casino but later on in the docks) and my friends older brother would be in charge of running the ramp up and down the beach as the tide came in. There was a big engine under the green cover that when started would either push or pull the ramp in and out of the water using wire ropes and pulleys.

I remember having going out on the Silver Star im sure the trip was to see the wreck. The person who took the boat out was Mr Washford i think.

It's amazing the two people in the foreground look so much like my auntie Rose and uncle Perce. They lived in London and came to visit us from time to time. In that case, the pram would be mine! The trouble is, I was born in 49 and this photo looks too modern for this to be true.
