Hi my name is Dean Atherton and i used to live on minster drive,i remember getting sent home from school and me and Paul Hughes and Jim Rietkirk rode our bikes down to sheerness to watch the water coming over the wall.i think it was 1978 but i could be wrong,seems like a life time ago,i live in canada now and look forward to coming back for a holiday with my kids.

It was 1976 i think . I started my first job after leaving school as a milkman for the Co-op , New Road Depot. Milk was delivered in the floods .

Hello Jack are you the father of Irene Pickett that I went o school with she lived in Alexandra Road Sheerness and went to Alexandra Road school as I did and then went on to the National School before going to the Central School she would be 55yrs old now.

A QUESTION : IN 1849 TO 1879 WAS THE ISLAND FLOODED AND IF SO DID ANY ONE DIE AND HOW MANY.
THE FLOODS IN 1953 ALSO WERE THERE ANY FATALITIES DURING THIS TIME AND ALSO HOW MANY PEOPLE DIED?

this flood was in 1979 as i used to work for barnes transport in railway rd and had to abandon the car and walk to work it was very cold
