I remember Eric he always wore a flat cap and i also remember his dog, the dog would come out and chase us down the hill and if we were on bike's grab our shoe's going down the hill at speed happy days!

I remember Farmer Eric Beal and His mother Marie. They owned Hollybush Farm on East End Lane which was a caravan site (and still is). We had a caravan for many many years on his site and Eric was a lovely man, who I believe never married.

I've just discovered this site during research of my BEAL ancestors who I discovered lived in East End Lane in 1841 [Census data]. Small world!
Thanks for these photos.
I'm curious to discover if East End Lane ended up going over the cliff like the Royal Oak Hotel which was situated on the Lane??

Hi,
I have just discovered this wonderful website. We had a trip to Sheppey last February and it was just freezing!(worse than where we are living) I have been trying to discover something about my ancestors, the Beals, whom I believe came from around the Minster area. The next time we are in England we must have another trip to Sheppey as I now have some idea of where they might have lived - that is in East End lane! Thank you.
Rob.
