This is the Abbey Gate and in the late 40's and early 50's I was in the 3rd sheppey scouts troop and we used to have scout meetings every Friday evening at the top floor of the building by walking up the spiral stairs at the side entrance.It brings back memories of childhood days of joy and innocence looking at this photo.I also remember the church bells tolling away as bell ringing practice was on Fridays as well.I am now 66 and I wonder if there is anyone who reads this and remembers my name and was in the scouts with me then.(my name is Stewart Duff)
