Rowetts Farm was in my family until c1964-5 when it was sold - the farm house was in such a dilapidated state the family who bought it understandably knocked it down and rebuilt it. Teresa

Hello Tricia I`m afraid I dont know the history of the farm - only my family who were called Bigg - If you look at old history books on Sheppey the name Rowett comes from an earlier version `Rowhede` (sp) I think it was a place name rather than a family name Regards Teresa

Teresa, My mother was a Rowett. I understand the line goes back to the Isle of Sheppey in 14/15 Centuries. Do you know the history of the farm? regards Tricia

The archway leading to the front door was covered in grapes that my GG Grandmother Charlotte used to make wine with. My Dad remembers Christmas at the house when all the farm workers and their families were invited and plenty of wine was drunk. I also have a photo of Charlotte sitting outside the front door of the picture.
