I live in Chester and of interest, the centre panel of the stained glass window which is now the refectory depicts a very large effigy of St Sexburgher. It takes centre stage. Was she the first female to be christianised around circa 800 causing her to make a pilgrimage to this part of the country? Incidentally I played table tennis for them around 1949-50 being legitamely allowing ourselves to be known as the Sexi Burghers. Anyone remember ?
