I lived in this pub from 1953 to 1957 when my Dad, Herbert Nickson, was the landlord. Sadly the closure of the Dockyard's western-most gate meant trade dwindled and the pub went into decline, eventually closing as did other businesses in Bluetown High Street. It was a cosy pub with two open fires and I loved living in Bluetown - there was a real community spirit there.
