Dockyard

John Simlett's comment - (thanks)
About the picture: At the top right hand is the floating dock. Moving forward to the larger Basin. Bottom left is number 3 (of 5) dry dock. The plate shop just emerges beneath the crane to the left. The pier can just be seen in the distance.

Hello Trevor, would you mind sharing a couple of photos of Blue Town? My Great, Great Uncle Henry Alfred Blogg and his family lived in Kings Head Alley and then High Street Blue town until he died in 1926. He was a tugboat Captain, I believe, after leaving the Royal Navy as a Stoker.
If anyone out there has any help, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much

Please may I use your photograph of the dock yard?.my gggrandfather was married in Sheppy in 1841 and was living in Blue town at the time. I believe he was a boatman at the time but later became a coastguardsman after many moves he settled in Tynemouth, in the Northeast.I would like the photograph for my own personal family history.

The Floating Dock is AFD 22, my Dad Bob Howland was a shipwright Dockmaster on it. When the dockyard closed AFD 22 went to Rosyth, Scotland
