My dad did this one year he was sheppey born and bred, i remember it was somewhere between 1999 and 2001 my brother was born on the island too

That is Sheerness Secondary School in the background. This must have been taken on the field round the back of Jefferson Road. Those buildings right behind them were not there in my day.
i remebering being in the high street one day and i had heard the zulus were coming off the water i was that scared i ran all the way home to hartlip close lol

This was always a carnival tradition when I was a kid. The Royal Navy would dress up as the Zulus and land on the beach from longboats (like all true Zulus would!) Has this been carried on into modern times?
