there is an old red mine now outside the de bradley warfh shopping centre dover kent it does look like the same one penny slot now covererd up o happy days of living in sheppy in 55 62 ex coppers son from medway rd now in folkestone neville bishop

I seem to recall the mine was for Mariners lost at sea

I do remember this view as I left the railway station after spending Christmas in Walthamstow with my relatives. I always hated to come back. Of course it was always late at night, January and I had to go to school the next day.

I wonder what happened to the old war time mine. We used to beg a penny off Mum to put in the slot on top. I think it was for the RNLI.
