I remember it well. I am the same generation as Julia. If you freeze the frame in the show when the camera in the water shots back to the shore you can see me and my family sitting on the kitchen roof at the back of Neptune Terrace. I also slipped into the pub on the corner of Alma Road and Marine Parade, where Michael went for a quick one after filming, to say hello. Happy days....

I watched Michael Crawford filming that episode when he drove the mini off the jetty and stood up through the roof window waving. His friend Ray Featherstone was up their talking to him that day. Its time someone repaired the jetty or we will lose it like many of our heritage buildings in Sheerness its part of our seaside history. I am 56yrs young (I did this as a child in the sixties too) and enjoyed jumping off our jetty on Sunday 6th October 2011 with my daughter when it was hot! hot! hot! everyone was having fun that day laughing and smiling and swimming and paddling in the sea. A day to remember ....

I remember walking home in a daze after my eleven plus exam. I spent some time at the end of this pier gazing out to sea. That's where I ended up going!
