I remember having one of these padling boats tied up at our house in Estuary Road in the floods of 1953

i lived in beach street and went to school with sara holland so we got a few goes on the boats for nothing, we would climb on the roof and Tommy holland would shout at us to get off it....ahhh happy days

The boats pictured were owned by tommy holland, there is a good possability the person working there is myself, as i used to look after the boats about that time, and my father (John Portch) used to look after them as well, it looks as though the building of the sea wall was in full progress at the time. i also used to look after the motor boats on this pond for tommy holland
