Boozers

Thanks to Roger for the picture & info:

Heres a right Royal Boozy crowd.
All this lot either worked at, owned or managed boozers on the Island
First two guys on the left front row had the Seaview Hotel, the bloke sitting in the middle had the Ship Queenborough Corner later Lady Hamilton now the Aviator. Fourth from the left is Joe Parks who had the Ship on Shore, he with his brother Ted, who was a previous landlord of the Seaview, came to the Island as fairground folk. Joe ran the .22 rifle range in the fairground and brother Ted ran the darts stalls.
Of the two ladies with the handbags, the one on the right is my very esteemed, Mum (aka Agnes). Mum worked behind almost every bar in Sheerness in her career as a professional barmaid and would have known the life history and all the problems of every person in this picture. The lady on Mums left was Marge Richdale landlady of the Heights of Alma from where Mum retired the pub trade.
I thought perhaps some of these faces might jog a few memories.

Thankyou Guest for that correction. Anymore? They're all welcome (Mum worked in the Blacksmiths)

First bloke on right hand side in front row was Tony Carter, landlord of the Blacksmiths in Clyde Street and his wife Joan in middle row behind Alf Shepherd from the Royal Fountain Hotel.

Not so this was in fact a Sheppey LVA outing and that person was LVA Chairman, Alf Sheppard, Landlord of the Fountain Hotel
