i love these portraits. i have been learning photography since i was a kid. some 50 years ago. i am still an amateur. but that doesn't say anything about my love of beauty. and these photos are beautiful, and i have been wanting to ask someone why you use the settings you do. they are probably brilliant. like photo LS1E0483.jpg? like exposure time of 1/800 second, and ISO (equivalent?) of 500? whatever they work. can you help me understand better, even a little? if not it is okay. i love to look at these people, and try to figure it out. thanks. ~doug

Luckily, I can read enough Spanish to understand how to contact you. I just reviewed your Street Portraits. Usually, I don't have the patience to go through so many images. But your work is captivating. I wish had the time to comment on individual images. But here are my thoughts. First, I love how you get "up close and personal" with your subjects. Too many photographers can not get close enough to their candid subjects. I shoot with a Nikon D700 with a 70-200mm lens. It is a great focal length for candid photography. You have a great sense of timing as well. Cartier-Bresson spoke of the "decisive moment" and I see that in your photos. Again, great work.

U weet hopelijk dat nestfotografie verboden is? Ik twijfel niet aan uw capaciteiten als fotograaf maar u heeft precies niet veel kaas gegeten van een klein beetje kennis van recht. En zelfs zonder dat recht zou u als natuurvriend moeten weten dat nestfotografie, gelijk met hoeveel millimeters staats schadelijk is voor de vogels.
U stelt me zwaar teleur!!!

Tus fotos de la India, China y Thailandia, son muy bonitas y por un momento te trasladan a esos paises y pareces estar en ellos.El realismo que das a tus fotos es espectacular . me he quedado mu y asombrada.

Durante más de 30 años me he mirado miles de veces en espejos de todo tipo y unas cuantas menos me han retenido en un objetivo, en un papel,... En todas he apreciado cantidad de diferencias en mi fisonomía pero he creído reconocerme siempre. Entonces, de improviso y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, usted, sr. Leon, ha "sacado" de mí una imagen distinta, la de cuando se está preocupado esperando en una estación, la de cuando menos pensamos y queremos ser vistos... Muchas gracias por ese momento y enhorabuena por todo su trabajo, es usted un gran artista.

Le vi realizando fotos a la gente alrededor de un centro comercial de Alicante donde yo trabajo, en España. Al principio pensé mal de usted; pensé que quizá utilizaría esas fotografías con fines ilícitos, pero cuando averigué quíen era tuve la curiosidad de entrar a ver su trabajo en internet. He quedado maravillado por su sensibilidad; esas fotografías son realmente bellas y espero verle algun día de nuevo por mi ciudad. Muchas gracias.
