What a burst of color when I opened this! And the seed pattern is riveting. I'd have this hanging on my wall where I'd see it first thing every morning.

What an amazing and superb shot! Nature's computation of fractals simply humbles the human condition!
Definition for: moiré pattern
A radiating curved pattern seen when two geometrically regular patterns (as two halftone screens) are superimposed.
What I find intriguing about this shot is the shear eloquence and complexity of nature. Reduced to mathematics, this effect could be described as(please adjust for lack of subscripts):
TM = T / 2|sin(alpha/2)|phiM = (theta1 + theta2)/2 - 90°
if alpha > 0
(theta1 + theta2)/2 + 90° if alpha T1
theta + 180°
if T2 < T1
But regardless of the orderly beauty in the math, it pales to the grandeur of your picture!
This is exquisite. I have looked at it several times. If you focus your eyes on it at different spots you get different perspectives and swirls and circles. I love it.
