Still trying to get the hang of this new zoom lens.
This fellow paused long enough to help me practice ...
hand held at full zoom is harder than I thought it would be.
The dragonfly yesterday was also hand held full zoom 300mm.

You need fast shutter speed for handheld at 300mmm (at least greater than 1/300s)or else a tripod...your dragonfly looks good because it seems to be moving.

Wow, I would love to be able to get close enough to a heron to take something like this! They are such graceful birds.

Great shot. But with your cameras 1.5x focal length mutiplier, you did a great job of hand-holding a photo taken with a 450mm lens. Even better!!
