Temp Truce
I have, thru careful negotiations,
reached a temporary compromise with my ailing computer.
I have rescued, cobbled together and otherwise coaxed
some of the software into working.
I still only have rudimentary editing tools but
at least I could post something new today.

Love it!
YNW21-Jul-2004 08:53
hahaha....just DO it! Otherwise, the computer would rather commit a suicide, I guess.
Guest 13-Jul-2004 17:37

Bust out your GEEtar! :)
Guest 04-Jul-2004 02:34

Melanie08-Jun-2004 19:08
LOL I think we all have this feeling when it comes to our 'puters. :)
Guest 07-Jun-2004 22:08
LOL!! I feel like this a lot sometimes too!!!
Guest 06-Jun-2004 00:07
I just think the knife is hilarious!! You look VERY serious!!
Guest 05-Jun-2004 10:45
Yep....know how you feel there Larry!
Guest 05-Jun-2004 10:14
Don't ruin the knife too! I've learned to always have 2 PCs and to backup the entire HD from time to time. When one PC breaks down I just remove the HD and plug it into the other one or swith over to the other HD... There's some sence in PCs having fallen to half the price of a couple of years ago... they make them doubly likely to fail because of cheaper massproductions. Thus you have to buy two to get the former stability. That's good economy for someone, I think? In the future it might be necessary to have 3 PCs aso.....

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Our computers must be in sympathy together against us. Mine hit a wall on Wednesday night; after 36 hours of diagnostics and defrag it says "All better now!" (You know the way of those Windows messages, with a 'have a nice day' perkiness and evil chuckle undertone) Yeah, right. Nice knife -- Wusthof? You're clenching it too tightly to tell! Thanks for the idea; I think I'll bump up to the 12" for mine.
Guest 04-Jun-2004 23:51
Larry, you offer a valuable lesson here. Always negotiate from a position of strength!
northstar3704-Jun-2004 22:26
No, no, no, it's the big hammer you need!
Guest 04-Jun-2004 22:10
Oh yes I know the feeling but believe me it won't solve your problem lol
Guest 04-Jun-2004 20:22
Yes , thats the only way, other than petrol and a match lol:-)
Costi Jacky 04-Jun-2004 19:10
Why?, Why using violence? Try some explanations and persuasion.
Guest 04-Jun-2004 18:53
My gosh Larry hahahaha I had a good laugh ;D
Stay Co0L as always hahahaha
Jvan Photography04-Jun-2004 18:52

Guest 04-Jun-2004 18:51

Jill04-Jun-2004 17:40
Oh Geez..you too? Have to agree with Lou..it can be fixed. Dont give up yet. So put the knife down...now!
Anna Yu04-Jun-2004 15:46
Heh that's a peecee. Kill that thing and buy a real computer instead :-)
Apple G4 Powerbook.
Guest 04-Jun-2004 14:57
Yes, yes, do feel like killing the computer sometimes, but then have to relent, after all, PBase would not exist without it...
katwilkens04-Jun-2004 14:28
Temper, temper!
Jude Marion04-Jun-2004 14:05
Patience is a virtue, Grasshopper ... but sometimes 'puter can just be a big fat pain in the ass!
Chop it good!
Guest 04-Jun-2004 13:53
No not with the knife as you'll regret it later?? Get the axe - far better {lol} Think we've all been there at some point?
Guest 04-Jun-2004 13:30
That's usually my last resort. Give it
one more kick before you try that method.
hehe. Good luck!
Vinay04-Jun-2004 13:10
Have you ever tried kicking it? Neat shot
Lou Giroud04-Jun-2004 13:05
I can not help you with a new computer, but if the tools and soft you need to put on there to make it better is all you need, jsut ask. I have allmost all of it. The knife will not resolve the problem, hehehe
jude04-Jun-2004 12:44
Btw, great SP!
jude04-Jun-2004 12:43
LOL> this is exactly how I felt this week. I had to take my tower in to be totally redone. I got it back last night and started reinstalling everything I had - minus viruses...lol.

I was lost without my schtuff.
Stu04-Jun-2004 12:09
These things are sent to try us... last year I lost my whole hard drive and felt like jumping in front of a bus (for all of 2 minutes).
Guest 04-Jun-2004 11:25
Sometimes we have to give in to impulse and it seems you have been provoked beyond reason; may I suggest a sledgehammer as a means to achieving maximum ( yet pointless and short lived) satisfaction.
p.s ensuring something can take its place.
Gayle P. Clement04-Jun-2004 11:20
This is dreadful! And dreadfully funny, too. What a week!
Mattana04-Jun-2004 10:31
Now, now... Don't be rash! I know how it feels though.
penny roots04-Jun-2004 09:38
Haha , nice shot . Yes , i know that feeling so well !!!
christianl04-Jun-2004 09:03
Cool shot but...
A hammer will give you a better result ;-)
joshishots04-Jun-2004 08:56
felt like doing that a few times too, nice shot.
John Lumb04-Jun-2004 08:47
Oh how I know that feeling!
