From my heart …

On Memorial Day we are all reminded of the heroism, bravery and selflessness
of many a fine soldier …
And of these we should be proud. They deserve it … they earned it …

But please let’s not forget that war in itself is the single most weak, cowardly
and selfish thing we do …

And the hideousness of war and what we do that leads to it leaves tens of
thousands terrified, dehumanized and dead every day …

And of this we should be deeply, deeply ashamed.

I re-read Mark Twain's "The War Prayer" after visiting this page. Do things never change?

There is a version of the main prayer set to pictures from the Iraq war here
**Warning: it is very graphic**:http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/illuswarprayer.html
(If we cannot bear to look it doesn't make it go away, and is it being done in our name.)

The full, plain text is here:

Thanks, Larry. Moving words and picture.

You, Dear Brother, are one of the finest people I know. I am proud to have come from the same pool. (I just wish you would have left some of the talent for the baby of the family)

Beautiful work,

Tim
