SP reality …
Mid 50s … Though I think I was ancient the day I was born …
Hardly ever sleep … I started teaching my self to control that when I was 12
Sex drugs and rock and roll way too much when I was young (OK not as much sex as I wanted)
I guess it all shows now …

Agree with Karen, the 60's and 70's took its toll on the youngsters coming of age. But think of the experiances we have that the young pups now could never imagine. Makes you stronger for it. I think.

Your caption sounds like it has the makings of a good song. As for being born ancient, I usually tell people how old I feel. Instead of "lying down", I lie up (you get a nice double-take when a 30 year-old says '62' with a straight face) -- I suppose one day I will actually catch up to myself, and that will be okay. And who needs sleep anyway?

Except for the problems with mobility and weight gain, I love being just barely done with being in my 50's. I wouldn't go back for anything except more time and energy to keep on keepin' on....cheer up. This is a great age.
And, Larry, you look MAAAHH-BULUS!!

PS. You hardly ever sleep, you say. I know a lot of guys our age who don't sleep more than 4-5 hours a day. Usually that's the only way we can get some time for ourselves without demands from work and wife. Great time for music at 3 o'clock in the morning!

Mid-50's: that's a good age. It might be your birthday today and time for mirror 'reflection'. So happy birthday :-)) I usually think about how much better I am today than I'll be 5 years from now! Relatively comforting... you can still remember how it was in the 60's and 70's. In some years that might be the only time you can remember..

Mid 50s … You are a young fellow (No use thinking about the past, it is gone, nothing one can do about it. "Be here and now" an old Chines friend told me once).
