Since all we have are here is the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, that is all you will see in this gallery. I have been experimenting with off camera flashes to best try to capture these little guys. I'm firing all flashes in manual mode set to 1/16th power in order to try to slow down their wing action. I'll keep trying to use different backgrounds to add a little color to the photos. The photos with the dark green background really have no background and what you see is the trees and brush behind my house. To get the yellow background, I used a potted plant set about 3 feet behind my feeder. The flashes are set in different positions about 2 feet away from the hummingbird and fired with remote triggers synced to my camera.
