In my opinion, this is one of our most beautiful birds, and it is also one of the shyest. I waited about an hour for this one to come down to the creek for a drink and bath. They usually need to drink in the late afternoons; their diet of grass seeds is rather dry! Low evening light, and quite a bit cropped off.
