Makro-shots need a lot of patience and for sure, know-how.

I have tested many Makro-lenses for Nikon cameras and despite of the fact that Nikon makes a nice range of special lenses for this purpose, my choice and preference is Sigma's Makro Lenses.

The 150, the 105, as well as the 180, are the out-performers in this category and it is quiet hard to find any brand of lenses to challenge them in Makro-picture quality.
