I've owned property on French Creek in Scott Valley since the 60s and have done lots of hiking in the Marbles, but mostly day hikes. We are planning to pack in the next generation of family this summer. We would like to go out of the North Fork of the Salmon. Where would you recommend for a base camp so that we can take day hikes to other lakes. We plan to pack in for a week or a bit more.
