Gannett Peak 13,804ft

Wind River Mountains

On my first hike into the Wind Rivers in 1980, I with a friend set out to climb Gannett Peak from east side via the Dinwoody creek valley. We were hit by snow and a storm while in the valley, and chose not to summit the peak, which was a very wise choice. On our hike out day, I finally was able to see Wyoming's highest peak when the clouds parted for this photo.
