22 miles of insane pain and adventure unparralled except in the Siskiyous. I added the elevation profile, and it shows nearly 9000ft up and 9000 down. I have never been so glad to see my old 1986 Toyota as I was just 72 hours later. Even with the bad choices I took, I didn't see other options at hand. Perhaps Pk 5301 would be better on the south side, but other routes were best as presented to me. I only made one mistake by going down a wrong ridge after Pk 5301. I hiked it in 4 days; camp at Olivene Ridge and take 5 days is best.
