This small pocket of Brewer spruce is actually a stand that rivals the world record Brewer spruce in size and dimension. Several are 150ft tall, and nearly 5 feet in diameter. I discovered it in 1993 while descending to Canyon Creek during the first High Route trip. I returned a month later with tape and clinometer and measured them all. It is an incredible small forest, only a few miles from the southern extent of the Brewer Spruce range.
