Happy Camp Fires 2007

30+ small lightning fires started July 10, but they are now growing and gaining momentum. The main fire is the Little Grider Fire, right in my back yard, which is approaching the town of Happy Camp, and my home on Little Grider Creek. A fireline was built just 100yds behind my house on the creek, and a back fire was set to burn off the fuel as the main fire approached. On July 23, Helicopter N205BR crashed while delivering water to an Elk creek fire, killing the pilot. My home is safe, but other's lives are changed forever.
