Well... What more can I say? I love the diagonals of the legs, the man in the suit seems to be the one contemplating the infinite. The Padre's hand speaks volumes, as does the tension in his face. Bravo. Voted

Very cool, powerful image!
Guest 31-Aug-2006 11:40
this is brilliant, your timing is perfect, right moment and framing too, somehow i feel like the priest is deep in thoughts about how people are getting away from church ,and may be ,the second person is thinking of some problem disturbing him and making a visit soon.
well i am too bad at interpreting a scene but this is what comes up to my mind.
anyway it´s a topclass shot , a keeper by all means.great shot.
Guest 30-Aug-2006 17:46

Thank you very much for your kind comments and attention. I am very happy you liked this photo as it is my favorite too.
Mike: you mean the indifference of modern people towards the Christian Churches?
Because I see this phenomenon not only inside the Catholic Church, but also in Orthodox Church and the Protestant too. I think it could be a lecture key, although not intended by me, but the significance of the photo is opened to any interpretation and I'm very happy it has an intrinsic meaning.
Guest 29-Aug-2006 12:58
Great shot. Doesn't that about sum up the state of Catholicism today?
Peg O'Brien29-Aug-2006 01:57
One of the best images I've seen on this site, Lorin. Using light to tell a story - or many stories really. Very imaginative and beautifully done! You raise the bar!
Guest 29-Aug-2006 01:43
Wonderful image. I hate to make a cliche comment but from the thumb this reminded me of the Matrix. Back to commenting intelligently, love what you've done here. The blown out whites remove all distractions leaving the focus on these two men. Loneliness is an interetsing title as first I thought it was intended for the figure in the background, but after further study, it seems more naturally applied to the figure in the foreground whose face shows a glimmer of sadness. The more I look, the more the figure in the back appears indifferent. Quite possibly, these people don't even know each other in real life but as a photographer, you've combined them to create an excellent, layered story

Surely this is not a man of God turning away from a man who seems in turmoil? Initially it seems that way but although I'm not religious, it seems the right way to follow..... I'm not sure I feel the lonliness, just a stubborness and a look of frustration on the 'Man of gods' face! Like he's been talking for hours and is still being ignored.... Magnificent capture, well done!!
