I became aware of this incident some time after it had started, so I'm not sure of the actual total duration, but I'd guess somewhere around 45 minutes; I stopped shooting when the (spoiler alert) gull dragged the dead duck onto the opposite beach to join him for (as) dinner, only because it was so far away that the image quality was very poor. Kinda painful to watch; it was literally a fight to the death. I took 900+ images, but was finally able to narrow it down to these 17; they are in chronological order.
Because the activity was quite far away, even with my longest lens, they were very small in the frame, so the images are heavily cropped, resulting in some loss of detail.
I suggest watching the sequence in Slideshow mode.
