The colors on this are rendered almost perfectly. The camera seems to love these flowers, focusing on them easily. The dark background is simple shade provided by the shadow of an assistant, who moved as needed as I lined up the shot. The contrast with the white lily was sufficient to render the background nearly black when using spot light metering. If you use evaluative light metering, the background will be much lighter and the effect is not as dramatic. If you can, be sure to view the images in the "original" size as they appear sharpest in that format.
