This shot is spectacular! It is over Williamson Creek and Copper Lake outlet -- which I've climbed several times!
In July 1966, we ate a nice lunch on the large slide from C-Rations out of our kits, just before boarding MSTS General Pope and "cruising" for 21 days to Qui Nhon Harbor, (no wharves, then). There were eighty ships offloading the 4 Infantry Division (us), US Air Force, Tiger Division from Korea and a Regiment from Australia.
After coming back in October 1967, I hunted grouse along W'Creek, (Good hunting) for a week before Bren-Mac hired me to help core-drilling at South Crested Butte, (Sultan King Property). Very pretty country -- it should be open to the public today!
