Ketchikan is the southeasternmost sizable city Alaska. It is the fifth most populous city in the state. Ketchikan's economy is based upon tourism and fishing. It is known as the salmon capital of the world. Average annual rainfall is 152 inches, so it was no surprise that it was pouring on the day of our visit!
