Rolín Monkey Island is located in the Madre de Dios River in front of the Reserva Amazónica complex, take a ten minute boat cruise from the lodge's port to Rolín Island, and learn about the island’s ecosystem and the project to protect primates there. This river bank land was part of the inland, when the river changed it's water course do to heavy strong rain, formed Rolin Island. To avoid monkey overpopulation, only two different species live on this island, each one has different sex as opposed to the other to produce hybrids, as in mule reproduction.
