High Resolution Images for Canon EF 50mm F/1.4 USM

These are unretouched jpeg images precisely as they were generated by the camera or by conversion from camera raw (with possible white balance and/or exposure adjustments). A variety of focal ranges is provided. View at "orignal" size to see image detail.

I think this is my all around favorite lens, although I mostly use it in low light and in scenarios where I can get by with a limited focal range without having to change lenses. On a full frame camera like a 5D, the 50mm focal length matches the perspective of the human eye, so the resulting images are the closest possible to what you actually see. That makes it the single most useful focal length for me, although I guess it wouldn't be very useful if one mostly shoots wildlife or sports.

I have no complaints whatsoever in regards to this lens. It works great in low light. The AF is very fast. The images have great IQ, sharpness and bokeh. It is extremely small and lightweight, and it is very reasonably priced.

I recommend this lens to anyone considering a 50mm prime for a Canon mount.
