This old barn

Just on my drive home from my massage this morning.
I would like to hear any suggestions on how to eliminate
the hazy background next time.

*************

I was surprised that you all liked the haze! I honestly did not
even see it while taking the photo so was a little disappointed with
it. The more I look at it..the more I am starting to like it.
Thank you.

Hate to be a 'me-too-er' but the haze adds to the effect. This is a wall-hanger. Well seen.

Everyone seems to be in agreement on the haze but if you want to play with the photo you could increase the contrast to lessen the haze effect.

the haze helps define and enhance the bright red of the barn . . .glad you left well enough alone =]

Very nice composition, I really like it, and the haze too

Another great one. You certainly live in a lovely part of the country.

The haze is fantastic here. The barn pops as a result (I am sure that is what everyone else has said as well). I am not sure what f stop you used but next time if you really don't want the background around why not just go for a shallow DOF?

Yep, the haze really makes the barn stand out, as well as give the wintery atmosphere. Beautiful.

Very nice

I agree that 'removing' the haze is the wrong way to go. Having it there adds a lot of depth.

Why would you want to eliminate the haze? This is an exellent image. Print it/ Frame it.

Beautiful shot

Another vote for keeping the haze.
It adds a nice subdued effect behind the red on the barn.

Ummm, take the photo on a sunny day, ?? Oh boy, sorry Lisa couldn't resist, but now you know I do NOT have PS smarts :>)
I agree with everyone, the haze is a beautiful part of this picture & I'm voting again.

Like others I like the haze too. If you don't you could try posting on the retouching forum of www.dpreview.com there's some people there who have exceptional talent at photoshop.

The haze adds to the image (delightfully so). It`s beautiful!!

Perfect image Lisa. I quite agree that the haze adds to the picture by making the bearn pop out. Well composed and photgraphed!

The haze is very effective. I like the composition a lot. The slope of the mountain and the barn throw the balance out a bit, but it is an interesting and colorful image.

I also think the haze adds to the image ~ it's gorgeous! What a beautiful place you must live to encounter this on your drive home :)

Why do you want to eliminate the haze? I think it adds to the image.
