Black Sea Serenade

We had heard so much about the Black Sea, its fickle nature and the oftimes uncomfortable relationships between the neighbours sharing shorelines with each other...so, when a cruise itinerary and cruise line presented the opportunity to embark on a cruise starting from Athens and finishing at Istanbul, we went ahead without a second thought. The ports of call were Grecian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian, Georgian and Turkish...rather a complex mosaic of visas required or so we feared! But thankfully the cruise line handled all the formalities though we did not see our passports until the day we disembarked! Was there cause to worry?
It was smooth sailing all the way! We had too much fun and food to worry about such mundane issues....there was much to see and enjoy!
