View from Home

Views from near my home on the west side of Pikes Peak, Colorado, USA
Out on the road
We tell all the tourists
Yes, it's always snowing and the sun never shines
But all the natives know, when the mountain lifts her skirts
The view from home will flat out melt your mind

We had a late March snowstorm that left 18 of fresh snow. I took this picture as the storm was ending, but before the horses started to move about the pasture. They are still bunched under the trees to block the wind coming out of the north.

This is one of the log cabins from the original homestead. It was probably used by a hired hand. We use it for guests that we prefer would not stay too long... ;-)

The old barn was built in the 1930's and was literally falling down. The goats really like the sunny porch....and the non-leaky roof...on the new barn.
