This is the entrance to the darkroom facility of the Boeing Employees Photographic Society at the Boeing Recreation Center in Kent, Washington. I was a member of the society for the purpose of using its darkroom to develop film and make contact sheets. However, I never used the facility and I let my membership lapse due to inactivity.
My buddy Kris Frederick has a darkroom at home, and that’s where all the film got developed and the contact sheets produced. He did most of the work. For his heroic efforts I gave him some of my film photography equipment and sold him other stuff cheap. It was a happy arrangement.
I took this picture in early 2005. Since then Boeing closed its recreation center here, perhaps moving it elsewhere or consolidating it with another facility.
