Actually, Dan, they are fake buildings. I shot this picture on the movie set used in "Planet of the Apes." Remember the final scene with the Statue of Liberty sticking out of the sand? In the director's cut of the film, there is a longer final shot in which the camera pans from the Statue of Liberty to these Manhattan skyscrapers. Charton Heston, upon seeing the buildings, begins crying about his lost stock portfolio. It's a touching scene.
