Taking in the view of the canyon of Salt Wash

Arches National Park (Moab, Utah) view map

This was taken near the end of the “Y ridge” that extends into the canyon of Salt Wash. The view is abiout to the southeast.

Joe Tripod was supporting my camera for this photo. He was too busy concentrating on a firm stance to appreciate the sceney.

Thanks, Lee and Larry.
Larry, the wide angle lens setting makes me look farther away than I was. The distance between the camera and me was probably less than 30 feet. I used a remote shutter device with a five-second delay. I fired it from where I am standing. Before getting the remote, I used the camera's self-timer (up to 20 seconds), which occasionally required running or fast walking to get in the picture.

Beautiful. Don't know quite how you did it. My remote signal won't go that far and I KNOW you didn't outrun the self timer. Did you use a combination of both?
