The fickle sun was hiding when I (and Joe Tripod) took this shot. Soon afterwards it made another appearance, then hid again. Later in the day it hid for good as a storm passed through the area.
As I sat here with binoculars in hand, I examined the far side of the canyon for hints about the feasibility of another cross-country exploration: it looked promising. Later trips proved that exploring that area WAS feasible (and fun).
