Without the railing and the steps (and a nearby ladder), yours truly would not have been able to reach Corona Arch. Simple, plain improvements such as this make sense to me if they transform the impossible into the possible. Another example of a worthwhile improvement (although it is under-developed):http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/78896508 .

I think this ruins the natural beauty of the face. Like Steve, I ask "what's next?" a catering truck waiting at the top?
