Cross-country hiking just north of Delicate Arch

Arches National Park (Moab, Utah)

On a cross-country hike from the Delicate Arch Trail to the canyon precipice of Salt Wash (one
mile [1.6km] north of the arch) I spent a lot of time walking on sandstone, as shown here.

My photographic assistant, Joe Tripod, helped me take this picture. This is the first
photo I ever uploaded from the field. It was edited and re-posted after I got home.

This spot is at the center of this WikiMapia aerial view:

That hat would make a decent Flying Saucer in my Mars gallery

I felt nothing but I am a postal worker so that's par for the course. You're in a really place here, Dave. You load up so many high quality photos that sometimes I forget to vote. Voted.

Dave, you look like you are in the great Sandstone Samadhi. That is probably what Lee felt. I bet the sandstone "felt" it, too, as well as Joe Tripod, even if he won't answer if you ask him ("He who knows does not say").

I felt this image being uploaded Dave. There was a pleasant disturbance in the universe for just a moment. My ears quivered and I had a brief sensation of enlightenment.
Can't wait to see your trip pics!
