Joe Tripod at the Goose Neck Viewpoint

Atop the sun-lit mesa is Dead Horse Point State Park. Along the bench in shadow is San Juan County route 142, often casually but erroneously called “Shafer Trail.” Casting a long shadow on this landscape is Joe Tripod. Although he is physically stunted here, he stands tall.
