This is the final portion of the access road that leads to the salt flats, location of the
Bonneville Speedway. Four miles (6km) straight ahead the asphalt stops, forming a short,
gentle ramp down to the salt. Out of view to the left is the Silver Island Range. Out
of view to the right is Interstate 80. The scene is normally more colorful than this.
