Wendover and Leppy Hills from airfield control tower (1 second; hand-held)

Wendover, Utah

Climbing the stairs to the control tower's airy catwalk rewarded me with nice views of the night landscape. This scene looks northwest toward the Leppy Hills on the north side of town. The bright white lights at center are the site of a major gambling casino. I was not comfortable here because of my fear of heights. Ascending the stairs (made of metal grating) was niot much fun aither. To make matters worse, the last flight of stairs is STEEP. Gasp.

The metal grating of the catwalk prevented my using Joe Tripod for long exposures, so for this shot I braced myself against the control tower’s exterior wall. In spite of feeling useless, Joe enjoyed the view.
