Prow that prompted me to prowl

Arches National Park (Moab, Utah)

This light-colored rock prow points to a sandstone landscape that
called to me. A few days after taking this picture I prowled the terrain
at the top of the photo; the reward was a great sense of discovery.

I have been here in July, when the temperature got up to 116F (47C). October and April are definitely more comfortable.

It seems you picked the cooler time of the year for this hike, it looks a hot and forbidden place in the middle of summer Dave. A beautiful shot of a sleeping giant.

Because of my fear of heights I did no leg-dangling. In fact, I had to back away from this position to "safer ground" after taking the picture.

I like the view from here. A good place to dangle the legs over the edge while contemplating the next hike.
